Tests on a headless liquid-metal circuit

Abstract
From experiments on a headless liquid ferrous metal circuit an approximate expression is obtained for the relation between the output of an electromagnetic trough conveyor, the current load and the lift angle. The current load required to initiate translational flow is also found. It is shown that the flow in the trough is nonturbulent. Figs. 5, Refs 5.
