Effect of relative roughness on a conducting fluid flow in the presence of a magnetic field

P. K. Dukure

Abstract
The flow of an electrically conducting fluid in the presence of a transverse magnetic field is discussed. Regions of applicability are established for formulas giving the friction coefficient as a function of the relative roughness. The results indirectly show that with increase in relative roughness there is a decrease in the zones of laminar flow and a broadening of the zone of developed turbulent flow.
