Distribution of the density of the force in an approximate model of an electromagnetic trough

Abstract
The article presents a theoretical calculation of the distribution of the density of the force in an approximate model of an electromagnetic trough, consisting of an infinite layer of hardened metal which is moving with a velocity v in a field of discrete conductors with a current, or of a continuously varying current layer. The distribution obtained for the forces can be used for a qualitative analysis of the operation of a real electromagnetic trough, taking account of the longitudinal edge effect.
