Problems in the design of induction pumps

V. A. Glukhikh

Abstract
The use of induction pumps with a capacity of tens of thousands of cubic meters per hour is feasible if they have a high efficiency. An analysis of the maximally attainable efficiencies, over a broad range of capacity at the specific loads attainable at the present time (current density in the primary winding, velocity of the liquid metal, linear current load), shows that the efficiency of a pump with such a capacity may be brought up to more than 60
