Investigation of magnetohydrodynamic throttles with a flow-through channel of variable cross section

Abstract
The article gives the results of investigations of specific devices for regulating the mass flow rates of streams of electrically conducting liquids, i.e., magnetohydrodynamic throttles with a constant magnetic field and with flow-through channels having several annular flow rings along their length. Feasible ranges of the ratios of the dimensions of the flow-through channels are found. Semiempirical calculating dependences are proposed for determining the change in the resistance coefficients of the channels of magnetohydrodynamic throttles, and their mass flow rate characteristics are plotted, with a constant pressure head in the hydraulic system.
