Splitting method for the calculation of two-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic flows

S. M. Bakhrakh - E. V. Gubkov

Abstract
A finite-difference method for the calculation of two-dimensional axisymmetric flows of a compressible medium with finite conductivity in the azimuthal magnetic field is discussed. The basis of the computational procedure is the use of a splitting method for the physical processes. The results of a numerical solution of the problem of the compression of an axisymmetric body by a magnetic field produced by currents flowing in the skin-layer along the specimen are given.
