Force of the dynamic braking of a linear induction-type MHD machine

Abstract
The article discusses the attenuation of the force of a linear induction-type machine under c conditions of dynamic braking. A spectral analysis is made for a model with a finite width of the inductors, the secondary part, and a finite length of the primary current load. It gives expressions for the attenuation coefficient of the force for the model adopted and for partial cases; a quantitative evaluation of them is given. The work enables an evaluation of the effects of geometrical dimensions on the braking force.
