The stability of 3D self-oscil1ations of planar flows of a conducting fluid in a longitudinal magnetic field

A. M. Sagalakov - A. Yu. Yudintsev

Abstract
The stability and branching of 3D self-oscillations of conducting fluid in the presence of a longitudinal magnetic field have been studied. Both the constant pressure gradient and the constant flowrate problems have been considered. We also studied self-oscillations of both oblique waves and those standing in the transversal direction and propagating along the flow. It has been shown that self-oscillations are unstable at Ha\geqslant 24.27/cos22° ≈ 26.18. Figs 3, refs 8.
