3D disturbances of MHD flows in an annular channel

Abstract
The stability of MHD flows in a gap between two coaxial cylinders in the presence of a longitudinal magnetic field has been studied. The numerical calculations over a wide range of the problem parameters have been carried out. It has been found that at large Hartmann numbers 3D disturbances are the most dangerous. The relationship between this transient Hartmann number and width of the gap between cylinders has been computed. Figs 2, refs 10.
