Abstract
A review of various models used for description and analysis of magnetic fluids has been presented. The basic assumptions on which the statistical models of magnetic fluids rest are considered. The models are associated with ihe formulation of equations of motion of magnetic particles and their magnetic moments under the effect of thermal fluctuations. Based on this, the equations for probability density distribution functions of the orientation of the particle and its magnetic moment at various approximations have been obtained and different relevant phenomena discussed.
