Abstract
Thermodynamic models of magnetic fluids used for description of different co-operative effects at magnetic interaction of particles have been considered. The general principles of continuum models of magnetic fluids have been formulated. These include the laws of conservation, of energy dissipation and the equations of the electromagnetic field. Taking into account several dissipatian mechanisms, some of the most employed mathematical models of magnetic fluids have been formulated. The above models serve as a basis for computational models which allow to study the magnetic fluid behaviour at different extarnal influences. Figs 5. refs 14.
