Abstract
Experimental and theoretical investigations of liquid tin cooling in a travelling magnetic field were performed. Modeling of electromagnetic forces and Joule s heat were made using the method of magnetic scheme substitution. Description of the temperature field was calculated using heat conductivity equation, in which a movement of liquid metal was taken into account. Velocity of the liquid tin was evaluated by solution of a 2D equation of movement with "velocity-pressure" coordinates. It was found out that model values are in a good agreement with the experimental data obtained. Figs 6, refs 12.
