Abstract
Toxicological characteristics and specific action of ultradispersed ferrous powder suspensions on the immature animal growth, isolated heart functioning and activity level of antioxidative enzymes were determined. Fe powder is able to dissolute continuously in biomedia when injected in the organism, biological action being dependent the reactivity ofdissolution products. Fe powder injection doses 2-10 mg/kg stimulates animal growth. It changes antioxidative status in the organism, reducing the activity of antioxidative enzymes - superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase. Blood flow and fibrillations duration in the isolated heart were not interfered by ferrous powder administration in dose 40 mg/kg. Figs 4, Refs 11.
