Abstract
On the basis of the magnetic fluid model with internal rotations the specific free surface instability in rotating magnetic field is considered. It is shown that instability is monotonous. Calculated critical values of the relative rotational viscosity in dependence on rotating field frequency show that optimal for the instability observation are angular frequencies at which transition from synchronous to the unsynchronous rotation of particles with the respect to the field takes place.
