Abstract
An analysis is made on the unsteady flow of a viscous incompressible conducting fluid bounded by an infinite porous flat plate. The plate and the fluid rotate in unison with an uniform angular velocity Ω about an axis perpendicular to the plate. The plate executes harmonic oscillations with a frequency n* in its own plane. An uniform magnetic field \vc B0 is imposed perpendicular to the direction of the flow. An exact solution of the governing equations for the fully developed flow is obtained in a closed form. The solution also exists for blowing at the plate. The temperature distribution is also obtained taking viscous and Joule dissipation into account. The mean wall temperature as well as the wall temperature is also obtained. No temperature distribution exists for the blowing at the plate. Tables 2, Figs 3, Refs 11.
