Abstract
MHD processes in melts arising under the action of a superposition of two frequency-modulated or harmonic rotating magnetic fields are described in the induction-free approximation using the ``external'' friction model. The results of ``hot'' experiments performed with 1080 steel and ``cold'' experiments performed with an InGaSn eutectic alloy, which model the former by all MHD criteria, are discussed.
