Conducting fluid flow in a helical magnetic field

Abstract
It is well known that helical flow of a conducting fluid can generate an electromotive force along the applied magnetic field. We consider the opposite problem, studying how the helical magnetic field can generate the vorticity along the flow of a conducting fluid. We present results of numerical simulations and preliminary laboratory experiments, which confirm that the magnetic field with an essential current helicity generates the mean hydrodynamic helicity in the initially non-helical flow.
