Abstract
The main concern of this work is theoretical investigation of special glass melting equipment using numerical calculations. Many types of glass need appropriate operating conditions to achieve good thermal and chemical homogeneity, and the investigated equipment is going to suit those conditions for a certain group of glasses. Several geometrical system configurations and parameter combinations were tested for EM impact optimization, and an optimal configuration was chosen. Results show that it is not possible to improve thermal conditions significantly if compare to similar currently used equipment. Glass melt flow is too slow to ensure good thermal or chemical homogenization, but the work on flow optimization is still in progress. Figs 5, Refs 6
