Abstract
In the paper, the process of air cavity formation in a magnetic fluid, filling a tube with the bottom, the transport and the holding up of the cavity by magnetic levitation forces are described. We consider elastic and dissipative properties of an oscillating system, the inertial element of which is a magnetic fluid column above the air cavity. The possibility to use the transported air cavity as a sound wave movable reflector is estimated. Tables 1, Figs 5, Refs 14.
