Abstract
Resonances in nonlinear spherical dynamos are considered in the framework of a simple dynamo model which is formulated in terms of an appropriate dynamical system. For a suitable parametric range, the model demonstrates a magnetic field excitation in the form of vacillations, dynamo bursts and even stationary magnetic configurations. A resonance can be expected if the magnetic field penetrates another shell from one dynamo active shell, or for a periodic modulation of dynamo drivers. In both cases, we isolate some resonant phenomena mainly in the form of resonant absorption. The results obtained are, however, quite far from naive expectations and the problem seems to deserve a more extended investigation. Figs 3, Refs 9.
