Abstract
This paper presents an experimental study of the molten salt heat transfer affected by strong external forces. The impact of buoyancy force and transverse magnetic field on the flow pattern and heat transfer in vertical and horizontal pipes was studied. A 30\% solution of potassium hydroxide was used as a molten salt simulator. Data on two-dimensional temperature fields in the stable flow area are obtained. Estimated non-dimentional heat transfer coefficients and temperature intensity distributions are obtained, too. Conclusions about the peculiarities of the magnetic field impact on the flow pattern under these conditions are made on the base of the obtained experimental data. Figs 11, Refs 18.
