High viscous fluid flow in a channel with inner fins and walls coated with magnetic fluid. I. Fixed interface

V. G. Bashtovoi - A. S. Kordelyuk - M. S. Krakov

Abstract
Flow and heat transfer in a channel with walls coated with magnetic fluid held by thin partitions have been studied numerically. Fluid interface was assumed to be fixed by the magnetic field. It is shown that at certain values of the problem parameters drag decreases, while heat transfer is intensified in such system. Dependences of the channel relative drag on the problem parameters (coating thickness, viscosity ratio, the Reynolds number, interpartition distances) have been found. Tab. I, figs 6, refs 13.
